Program Notes

CROSSPOINTS was not inspired by the intersections of a pattern of lines, but by the way the points of the colored circles merge and orbit each other like planets in kandinsky’s painting, Einige Krese (1926).  The circles move in different speeds, stopping, catching up with each other, or, remaining in a state of stasis.

In the last year I have been extremely fascinated by this great artist and visionary thinker of the 20th century, so fascinated that I have decided to look humbly upon his work as a source of inspiration in composing a number of commissions in the coming period.  The work of Wassily Kandinsky looks as ‘modern’ , as when it was created, perhaps it is spring of new modernism.
